The Speaker

Featured Speaker: Denny Hendersondenny-henderson

Denny is the Founding Lead Pastor of Hill Country Bible Church UT. He teaches on Sunday, leads the staff and works with the elders to chart the course for the church. Denny has been married to Bridget for 8 years and recently added their son, Tripp, to their family of 2 dogs.
Denny began his ministry years as a youth pastor in San Jose, California when God gave him a passion for the collegiate generation. He decided to begin a weekly bible study for the 8 college students that were on his youth volunteer staff. Within six months this little bible study began to attract over 200 students.

In 1999 Denny made a transition to McLean Bible Church in McLean, Virginia, one of the largest churches in the country, to begin a new ministry for college students and young adults ages 18-25 called the Gathering. Over the course of 5 years God did great work increasing the weekly attendance and ministry of 75 college students to over 900 students and young adults gathering together for the purpose of reaching their generation with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

In the summer of 2004 Denny and His wife, Bridget, moved to Austin, TX to be part of the church planting movement with the Association of Hill Country Bible Churches <http://www.hcbc.com>. In September 2005 Denny founded Hill Country Bible Church UT <http://www.hcbcut.com>  - a church that was strategically planted to reach the 50,000 students at the University of Texas. Starting with only 12 students, HCBCUT now ministers to over 800 college students and adults weekly.

Over the last several years Denny has become an emerging communicator for this generation, speaking across the country in multiple venues; Youth Specialties, Passion Conference, Futurgen Conferences, Worship Together, Emerge, Imagine Conferences and many others. Even through all of this Denny’s heart still resonates with leadership in the local church.
